Chelsea is the gateway into Chestermere. It will be the landing place for everyone who is driving home or coming to explore.

There are lots of opportunities to make Chelsea your home. At completion, there will be a total of 2,080 residences.
We’re on track to complete our vision for Chelsea by 2030 – give or take.
The best ones, of course! We have Duplex Homes from Truman, Laned Homes from Pacesetter by Sterling Homes, Trico Homes and Truman and Front Drive Homes from Luxuria Homes and Trico Homes.
In the future, Chelsea will be home to both a public high school and a catholic kindergarten to grade nine school. We will also be sharing a third school site with our neighbours in Dawson’s Landing which will be kindergarten to grade nine.
For now, residents can find the school nearest to them and register new students on the City website.
In Chelsea, the spaces outside your home matter just as much as the spaces inside. Nature exists throughout the community, starting with nearly 15 acres of environmental reserve, including a five-acre wetland complex. Residents can explore the area via an almost five km long regional pathway network. Looking for parks? We’ve got plenty, including over nine acres of new park space and nearly 28 acres of playfields across all three school sites.
The off-leash area at John Peak Memorial Park is just a six-minute drive from Chelsea. There’s even a designated beach area to swim and cool off in the dog days of summer.
Play is important work! Residents can expect a new form of green space, pathway or park to be completed with each new phase of development. The first playfield was opened 2022, as well as a network of pathways and a tot lot.
AKA: how far will I have to go for milk? Not far. There will be roughly 10 acres of commercial development along Chestermere Blvd with additional smaller commercial amenities located within Chelsea.
No way! Lake and beach access are free of charge – summer and winter – and there are no cumbersome HOA or lake fees to worry about. Boaters: see below.
Residents of Chestermere who want to use their boat on the lake are required to purchase a season pass which can be easily reactivated in subsequent years. All pass holders will receive information about preventing invasive species, a boat safety courtesy check along with a Lake safety map and contact information for the boat launch, CPOs and RCMP. Living in Chelsea, you are close to multiple shopping hubs close by in Chestermere and Calgary.
- No Frills is located five minutes away in Rainbow Falls, complete with a gas station and other shops and services.
- Chestermere Station is Chestermere’s largest shopping hub with a Safeway, Boston Pizza, Starbucks and many other shops and services conveniently located down Chestermere Boulevard five minutes away by car.
- Just a six minute drive west on Highway 1A is East Hills Shopping Centre where you will find big box stores like Walmart, Costco, Marshalls, PetSmart and other popular retailers.
Anthem, the developer, does not plant trees on private property. However, Chelsea is part of the Complete Streets initiative, where trees are planted in the road right of way along each street.
The road right of way (or boulevard) adjacent to your property is land that is actually owned by the City, and maintained by you. The City uses this land for snow stock piling, road maintenance or other items as required.

Complete Streets is an initiative designed to enhance residential streets with added colour, shade and natural protection by planting and caring for trees along public roads.
Anthem, and then afterward the City of Chestermere, will maintain these trees but the grass below them is up to you, so plan for some extra passes with the mower every now and then.
