Good news for Chelsea residents and everyone who travels in and out of Chestermere. Work is underway to widen 1.6 km of Chestermere Blvd to four lanes, giving the community easier access and more room to move.
A Team Effort
The City of Chestermere, Anthem and Qualico Communities are partnering on the project. By working together, they have been able to move the project forward sooner. It is an upgrade residents have been asking for, and one that helps infrastructure keep pace as the area grows.
Each partner sees the widening as an investment in Chestermere’s future. More capacity means safer and more efficient travel for residents, businesses and visitors, along with a well-connected community that can grow responsibly.
What to Expect
The team is targeting November 2026 for the first phase of completion, with full completion planned for Spring 2027. These dates are estimates and may change as work progresses.
Growing Communities
The widening supports a growing part of the city. Chelsea by Anthem is expected to welcome roughly 9,500 residents once complete. We will share updates as the project moves ahead. Thank you for your patience while the work is underway.
